Is the 'GoldPickaxe' trojan malware a threat to apple devices?

You could be forgiven for imagining that “GoldPickAxe” is the latest accessory your kids will be clamouring for on Minecraft, but you’d be very, very wrong.


In fact, it is a new Malware Trojan which has reportedly been successfully ported to iOS devices, from its original Android form.


The Trojan steals facial and biometric data through victims’ mobile devices to produce deepfakes that can fool banking software’s security measures.


This is significant, because Apple devices have historically been much less vulnerable to malware and viruses than others - and iPhone users in particular have had little to worry about in terms of Cybersecurity.


Is this the beginning of the end for Apple’s privileged position?
